I "Granai dell'amicizia" - FRIENDLY GRANARY is aim is to recreate the pleasant atmosphere we find when seated around the dinner table. The granary preserves the wheat with great care, as it is the result of years of hard work by man and the gift given to us by nature. It is a precious resource that has always existed in our diet. We use two varieties of old "ancient" grains obtained in organic cultivation, with the utmost respect for the environment. Senatore Cappelli durum wheat, a variety born at the beginning of the 20th century from a natural selection of spontaneous grains, thanks to a great Italian geneticist Nazareno Strampelli. Timilìa or Tuminìa durum wheat "short cycle" cultivation (March / June) whose Sicilian origin is lost in the mists of time, is the millennial sign of uncontaminated nature. Using the method of organic farming, these rustic grains is predominantly produced in poor and clay-like fields. The final product is finest quality semolina which gives a pleasant texture to the pasta, creating a “full-bodied” and “naturally healthy” taste. Thanks to this wheat, which is high in protein and has excellent nutritional qualities, the products obtained are much more digestible, even for those who have problems with traditional wheat. They are also environmentally-friendly and healthy. The five products that we offer are of an unusual shape, obtained by an extremely prestigious technique. We use a highly refined process where the pasta is “trafilata a bronzo.” This means that the mixture is passed through special machinery that is made of bronze, which shapes the pasta and leaves it with a rough texture, making it ideal for cooking and perfect for when adding the sauce. This process also helps in preserving the perfect shape and the quality of the pasta when the product is frozen.
